Strange Notions is a new Disqus site run by Brandon Vogt to try to discuss Rationality and Reason with Athiests. He may well succeed with some, but there is one subset of atheism he will never succeed with. On Richard Dawkin's spectrum of theistic probability , those with a score 6 and above often fall into something I term fundamentalist atheism. Many of them come from fundamentalist Christian backgrounds, if not in their generation, then within three generations of their recent past. Fundamentalist Atheism starts with the assumption that the supernatural doesn't exist and that the natural world is all there is, and runs with it, denying any data to the contrary. I've always been one to consider the natural to be a subset of the supernatural- that is the only real difference between the natural and the supernatural to me is the line of the shared scientific knowledge of mankind. That's the problem with your whole generation. You were so busy trying to be yourselves, you forgot to be good.
Good adults learn to curb temptations that are bad for them. They learn not to take drugs, not to engage in promiscuous sex, not to endanger the ones they claim to love with perverted ideas about sex, not to charge usury or pay a laborer less than his due.
It seems to me that the baby boomer generation never grew up- and largely failed to teach their children to grow up.
NEITHER of your children, from my point of view, are "fine". But then again, from my point of view, few Americans are.

The problem with liberal theology is that it is hypocritical. If you don't judge anybody, you can no longer tell the difference between right and wrong. You've lost the power of discrimination. Which leaves only the seven deadly sins for guidance, because virtue can not exist.
I put my opinions out there for you to knock out of the park. I welcome your feedback on those. I would not invite your opinion of how my sons choose to live their lives. That's off the table.
Non-procreative sex in general is to be condemned. It isn't even about homosexuality or heterosexuality, it's about selfish, empty sexuality from a selfish empty generation.
The whole idea that human life is worth less than economics, that we should go to war over what happens in other countries that has nothing to do with us, or that the poor should be encouraged to adopt abortion and homosexuality to reduce their population, is repugnant in the extreme.
The freedom to do evil, is slavery.
