Considering that same sex attraction alone

Can lead to “depression, substance abuse, social withdrawal, decreased self-esteem and suicidal thoughts.” I believe that This is merely closing the barn door after the horse got out .

I have two sons. One is gay and one is straight. I raised them to be themselves and they both turned out fine. The thought of having tried to somehow steer the gay son into being straight seems totally ludicrous to me. If people are really stupid enough to do that, then maybe the government does have to protect the children from misguided parents. That shouldn't be the case, but maybe it is in some homes. Maybe due to religious reasons like Christian Scientists who won't seek chemotherapy for children with cancer.

You raised them to be themselves? So you would have been fine if one had turned into an ax murderer?

That's the problem with your whole generation. You were so busy trying to be yourselves, you forgot to be good.

Why must you put a damper on the satisfaction that I feel for the way my kids turned out? Do you have a problem with people being content?

Theodore M. Seeber said...

I do when they are more content with evil than with good- when they go so far as to embrace evil rather than take the risk of telling the truth when it is uncomfortable or when it prevents them from living as themselves.

Good adults learn to curb temptations that are bad for them. They learn not to take drugs, not to engage in promiscuous sex, not to endanger the ones they claim to love with perverted ideas about sex, not to charge usury or pay a laborer less than his due.

It seems to me that the baby boomer generation never grew up- and largely failed to teach their children to grow up.

NEITHER of your children, from my point of view, are "fine". But then again, from my point of view, few Americans are.

It's really not for you to judge. Isn't there something in the Bible that says "judge not, lest ye be judged"?

Theodore M. Seeber said...

So basically, you can't judge anybody, so why do you keep judging me?

The problem with liberal theology is that it is hypocritical. If you don't judge anybody, you can no longer tell the difference between right and wrong. You've lost the power of discrimination. Which leaves only the seven deadly sins for guidance, because virtue can not exist.

When we blog, we open ourselves to having what we say judged by other bloggers. That is different than judging people you don't even know. There is nothing about my kids that calls for any opinion from you. Also, there are many happily married gays whose marriages do not require your approval. There are women seeking abortions who do not require your input, etc.

I put my opinions out there for you to knock out of the park. I welcome your feedback on those. I would not invite your opinion of how my sons choose to live their lives. That's off the table.

I will not lie for your sake, or for the sake of your children, or for the sake of anybody else. That is what you are asking me to do- to lie to save the feelings of others. Nobody's ever bothered to lie to save my feelings, why should I lie to save YOUR feelings?

Theodore M. Seeber said...

Who's asking you to lie? Just keep your judgments of my kids to yourself. You don't even know them.

Theodore M. Seeber said...

It isn't a judgement of your kids. It is an indictment of an entire generation lying to their kids and creating sexual chaos. That's what the sexual revolution was all about- and it worked.

Non-procreative sex in general is to be condemned. It isn't even about homosexuality or heterosexuality, it's about selfish, empty sexuality from a selfish empty generation.

I'm not worried about it. If you want to fret about it, be my guest.

Theodore M. Seeber said...

Bill, of course you aren't worried about it, when you banished sin from your thinking, you banished any ability to discern good from evil- and your sons will pay for it.

Theodore M. Seeber said...

I assure you, Ted. My sons are not evil.

Theodore M. Seeber said...

Bill, to me just about everybody from your state is evil.

Theodore M. Seeber said...

Ok. Now you are just being a sociopath (or extremely silly).

Theodore M. Seeber said...

When it comes to the crimes of the liberal elite- I am a sociopath, for that society is simply not worth any allegiance at all.

The whole idea that human life is worth less than economics, that we should go to war over what happens in other countries that has nothing to do with us, or that the poor should be encouraged to adopt abortion and homosexuality to reduce their population, is repugnant in the extreme.

The freedom to do evil, is slavery.
