It is in the Catechism that we are not to put our faith in the secular forces of the AntiChrist. I submit that with this current redefinition of the institution of marriage- and possibly with the original mistake of allowing Catholic Priests to act as agents of the State with regard to the secular portion of marriage- we are committing Americanism, putting the Constitution as a higher law than Canon Law.
680 Christ the Lord already reigns through the Church, but all the things of this world are not yet subjected to him. The triumph of Christ's kingdom will not come about without one last assault by the powers of evil.

I don't think this is the final assault. But it may well be an intermediary one.
