Men make up 81% of all war deaths. Men lose custody in 84% of divorces. 80% of all suicides are men. 77% of homicide victims are men. 89% of men will be the victim of at least one violent crime. Men are over twice as victimized by strangers as women. Men are 165% more likely to be convicted than women. Men get 63% longer sentences than women for the same crime. Court bias against men is at least 6 times bigger than racial bias. Males are discriminated against in school and universities. Boys face vastly more corporal punishment than girls. 60-80% of the homeless are men. Women's cancers receive 15 times more funding than men's. At least 10% of fathers are victims of paternity fraud.

Another Ambitious Crazy idea- but I'm letting other people decide if I will do it. My idea is to steal an idea from the Diocese of Lafeyette, hire an interior project manager I know who needs volunteer hours, and buy Fr. Theo Lange a new ride for the second half of the Jubilee Year of Mercy- one specifically designed for his role as a Papal Missionary of Mercy: Not sure we can find an ambulance that looks this nice- might only be able to find an old panel truck or a van or something, but we will find something.  I'm budgeting $7000 for a used vehicle, $1000 in conversion costs, and $500 worth of fuel and devotional items to fill the cabinets in the back.

I made the rather radical comment  in a post on the March for Life that in the United States, a primary motivator for abortion is capitalistic greed.  I was challenged that it isn't greed, but fear.  However, fear is the primary emotion of greed, and thus: Greed is always based in fear and mistrust. In a fear of man and a mistrust in God. We preserve our own resources because we fear other human beings will take those resources away, and because we don't trust God to provide us what we will need. Generosity is the antithesis of Greed. It takes the fear and steps out in the faith of sharing with others. It takes the mistrust and changes it to trust- that what you share with "the least of these" will be returned in sufficient amounts for you to survive. I myself have struggled with greed and generosity- and I find that when I am more generous, that generosity is returned when I am in need. Rebecca Hamilton  was once a progressive.  She was a legislator in Oklahoma.  Originally pro-choice, she switched to being one of the few conservative pro-life Democrats I know.  And not just pro-birth either- Catholic pro-life. She is now retired to take care of her mother with dementia.  And she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I can think of no stronger voice against euthanasia today.  My prayers are with her.
