School Safety Starts with Community .  Which makes me very afraid for my son's middle school.  The Whitford community is everything you remember public school community to be like from high school- from the students right up to the PTO.  Cliqueish and into all of the division that brings. There is a way out.  Inclusion.  Instead of calling that strange kid of the opposite sex gay, ask them out on a date.  Instead of ostracizing that kid in the Alternative Learning classroom, get to know them. You might be surprised.  And maybe because of it, your own kids will have a better time when they get to middle school. We might even have fewer school shootings.

An interesting question posed in #3 for Pope Francis-  If gun manufacturing and ownership is so evil, why do the Swiss Guards carry pocket machine guns?  An equal question for President Obama- if guns cause mass shootings, why do you allow the Secret Service to carry weapons?
